What security measures protect my data?
Section titled “What security measures protect my data?”This app is built using Miro’s Web SDK (v2.0). This means the app only has access to your board items (essential for the app to function) when it’s running in your web browser or Miro app. It does not have access to your team or organisational data.
Communication between your web browser and the app is via HTTPS only. The app itself is a global static web app served from Microsoft Azure. The app will only run when the Miro context is available - either when accessing a Miro board via a web browser or in the Miro app.
Data required for the app to function (eg. the license key) is stored as board app data in Miro. Miro details more about this in this document, including who has access to the data stored within a board’s app data. All modifications to your board are done locally within your web browser or Miro app via Miro’s official web SDK.
The only external API call the app makes outside of the context of Miro is to our license key validation endpoint via HTTPS. This call is only done while verifying license keys provided to the app, and the only data sent to the endpoint is the license key that the user has entered. The key is validated with our payment partner Gumroad.
As our payment partner, Gumroad also stores your payment information to process your subscription. You can find out more about their security practices and policies here.
